The goal of this video is to promote the region of Šalčininkai as a competitive business environment and attract new investments to the district.
Šalčininkai – A business oasis, where it is great to live and work. The majority (92%) of the inhabitants of the district speak several foreign languages: English, Russian, Polish. Šalčininkai region municipality is located in the south-eastern part of the country, at the border with Belarus. The region has borders with Vilnius, Trakai and Varėna regions. The southern and eastern borders coincide with the Lithuanian-Belarus state border. The total area of Šalčininkai region is 1419,4 sq. km. According to the data received in 2018, there are 529 small and average companies in Šalčininkai region. The most common occupational fields are as follows: wholesale and retail trade, agriculture, logistics and warehousing, forestry and manufacturing. Forests occupy 43,77 % of the region land and it is 1,5 times more than average in Lithuania. Šalčininkai region has its exceptional geographical location, multicultural environment, and developed road infrastructure, which results in convenient communication with the capital Vilnius as well as the nearest neighborhood countries – Poland and Belarus.
